Drag Force Calculator

Drag Force Calculator

The Drag Force Calculator is a tool used to calculate the drag force experienced by an object moving through a fluid, such as air or water. Drag force is a resistive force that opposes the motion of an object and is dependent on factors like the object’s shape, size, speed, and the properties of the fluid.

Formula

The formula for calculating drag force is:

Drag Force = 0.5 * Drag Coefficient * Fluid Density * Velocity^2 * Reference Area

Example

If you have a car moving through air with a drag coefficient of 0.3, fluid density of 1.2 kg/m^3, velocity of 30 m/s, and a reference area of 10 m^2, the drag force would be calculated as follows: Drag Force = 0.5 * 0.3 * 1.2 * (30^2) * 10 = 5400 N
